I wanted to post a little message letting everyone know that Free ColdFusionHosting.Com (Formerly CFM-Resources.Com) now supports ColdFusion 9 for your account. I upgraded it last night to provide you with the latest and greatest features. More features are in the works as we speak, the control panel is getting an overhaul so you can create your own datasources and more.... things are about to get "fun" again..... So what do you get for free?

We have fixed a small glitch that existed with the helpdesk, and have gone ahead and created all the database/datasource requestes. All existing requests for datasources have been processed and are now live. Check your helpdesk ticket for details!

We're also in the process of automating the process, we have ran into a snag with the sandbox configurations with ColdFusion, but are almost done with this process. It should be wrapped up and you will have the ability to create your own datasource shortly...

I am working hard at getting the free hosting setup... I am still working on the control panel; however I am releasing two types of free hosting.

1) Sandbox (Developement) hosting. This can be used to test your code, throw up a dev site and/or test things. (non production ready sites).

2) Business Hosting - This is production ready content ONLY hosting. Live websites, etc. To ensure uptime, etc... I am gonna process these signups via an approval system; just a manual validation that you do have a real site and that it's already live, etc. I just dont wan't spammers of people uploading crap to those servers; kinda defeats the purpose if you ask me... but that is another topic for another day ;) hehe

I am almost done with the control panel, at the very least it will be released with a few sections (i.e. cf mappings, datasources, support, etc) and new areas will be added in the weeks to come.

I wanted to write a brief note for everyone following the stauts of Free ColdFusion Hosting; I have completed the installation and configuration of the server farm; now I am finalizing and finishing up the control panel and the auto scripts that will create your accounts on the fly. Everything is looking good right now for a January 1st launch.
